Brad Lee Wollard, 59, passed away on September 9, 2013, peacefully at his home in Thompsonville, IL. He was born on December 6, 1953, in Culver City, CA, to Robert Lee and Rebecca (Worsham) Wollard, she survives.
Brad grew up in Joliet, IL. He graduated from Joliet East Township High School in Joliet, IL, in 1972. After high school, he began working for his grandparents at Worsham Maytag in West Frankfort, IL. Shortly after, he began work for Crespi Distributing Company, also in West Frankfort, IL, for over 20 years. He also was employed for Rend Lake Marina, Sam's Club, Pepsi, and last worked at General Tire in Mt Vernon, IL.
Brad married Debbie Larson in 1973 in West Frankfort, IL. They were married for 25 years. He was a member of the Elks Club
, Moose Lodge, VFW
, National Rifle Association, Buckmasters and Union Free Will Baptist Church in Thompsonville, IL. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved "watching nature." He particularly enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially deer. He loved sports and was a die hard St. Louis Cardinals fan. Brad loved life, loved his farm, and didn't know a stranger. He could light up a room with his smile and fill it with laughter. If you were in his path, plan on getting a big hug. He loved his friends, family, and especially his grandchildren. He was loved so very much by many and will be greatly missed.
Brad was preceded in death by his father, his paternal grandfather and grandmother, George and Florence Larson, and his maternal grandfather and grandmother, Fred and Clara Worsham.
Brad is survived by his son, Jason (Michelle) Wollard, Peoria, IL; his daughter, Christal (Jesse) Williams, Thompsonville, IL; his 3 grandchildren, Kamden Wollard, Kenna Wollard, and Addyson Minton; his 2 step-grandchildren, Jakob Lane and Max Williams; his sister, (Barry) Paula Hartman, Crest Hill, IL; his sister Lisa Malone, Joliet, IL; his 5 nieces and nephews; and his 3 great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Union Funeral Home, 213 East Oak Street, West Frankfort, IL, on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at 11 a.m., with burial following at McCann Cemetery in Thompsonville, IL.
The family will be greeting friends and relatives at the visitation which will be held at Union Funeral Home on Friday, September 13, 2013, from 5-8 p.m.
The family requests that memorials may be made to The West Frankfort Recreation Association, where he spent many enjoyable days coaching, umpiring, and cheering for his children.
