Bryan Junior Hill, 88, of Evansville, Ind., passed away at 8:40 p.m., Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at Evansville Protestant Home.

Bryan was born Dec. 20, 1924, in Benton, the son of Bryan and Ruth (Fletcher) Hill.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during WWII and a member of the American Legion Post No. 254. Bryan was a Christian and attended First Southern Baptist Church. He retired from Texaco Oil Company after 35 years working as an administrator for the district office.

Bryan and his wife Gaynelle enjoyed square dancing and were members of local square dancing groups. He was also a guitarist in the Rainbow Country Band of Rainbow Springs, Fla.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Virginia "Gaynelle" (Reid) Hill of Evansville; daughter, Myrla Gay Sproat (Jon) of Ashland City, Tenn.; sons, Gary Dale Hill and Brad Alan Hill (Sue), both of Evansville; brother, John Hill of Marion; sisters-in-law, Betty Jean Hill of Colorado and Delores Hill of Independence, Mo.; grandchildren, Travis Ryan Hill and Amy Elizabeth Hill; stepgrandchildren Mark Sproat (Kristine) and Andrea Bloodworth; and six great-stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Delmar Hill, Ruby Evans, Robert Hill, Jimmy Hill and Billy Hill; and half siblings, Denzil Alunius and Forrest "Buster" Hill.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, Ind., with the Rev. Don Moore officiating. Entombment will be in Park Lawn Mausoleum where the Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club will perform full military rites.

Friends may call from 3 until 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at Boone Funeral Home - East Chapel and again from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
