Hazel Louise Vaughn, 83, of Thompsonville, died Thursday April 3, 2014 at 8:40 AM at Stonebridge Senior Living Center in Benton Illinois.

Hazel was born in Williamson Co. on July 29, 1930, the daughter of Ray and Nellie Hedges. On March 23, 1948 she married Lloyd Vaughn. He survives.
Her family was her pride and joy. She loved to cook and cooked Sunday dinners for many years. She was always there for her family.
She worked outside the home for 32 years.
In addition to her husband Lloyd, she is survived by one daughter Carol Kern and husband Delbert of Thompsonville; One son Bruce Vaughn and wife Marsha of Thompsonville; three grandsons, Travis Kern and wife Ashley, Beau Vaughn and wife Britny all of Thompsonville, and Miles Vaughn and Alysa of Benton; great-grand-children Nathaniel James Kern and Katherine Marie Kern of Thompsonville.
Mrs. Vaughn was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation is Saturday April 5, 2014 from 5-8 at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia Illinois.
Funeral will be Sunday April 6, 2014 at 11 AM at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia Illinois with the Rev. John Robinson officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Thompsonville Il.
For those who wish, memorials in Mrs. Vaughn's memory may be made to the Southern Illinois Parkinson's Disease Support Group for Research and will be accepted at the funeral home.
