John Russell Boozer, 86, of West Frankfort went to be with the Lord at 8:50 a.m. Tuesday March 19, 2013, at the Herrin Hospital. He was born December 26, 1926 in West Frankfort the son of John Russell and Ida Mae (Thompson) Boozer.

He married Juanita Beavers from West Frankfort, in 1946 and she was his loving companion for 66 years, they have two children Gary and Debbie. He served his country in the United States Navy. He attended Faith Assembly Fellowship in West Frankfort, for many years. He had a good sense of humor, loved to fish and travel.
He is survived by his loving wife, Juanita; son, Gary (Nancy) Boozer of Las Vegas NV.; daughter, Deborah (Jim) Hasten of St Charles MO.; grandson, Mike Boozer, grandson, James Hasten and granddaughter, Stacey (Luke) Brown; great-grandsons, Evan Boozer and Lance Brown; sister, Daisy Biggs of Centralia, Il; brother-in-law, Jerry (Kathryn) Odle of West Frankfort, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and seven sisters.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2013 at the Parker Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort, with the Revs. Gary Brown and Gene Cowsert officiating. Burial will be in the Denning Cemetery on Orient Road with Military Rites conducted by the American Legion's of Orient and Zeigler, the VFW of West Frankfort and the Military Honors Team of Marion. Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Assembly Fellowship and will be accepted at the funeral home.
