Kenneth Barker, 68 of Albion, IL passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at his residence in Albion. Kenneth was born October 5, 1942 in Cadiz, OH. His parents were Archie and Isabelle (Laughrige) Barker. He married Karen Thaxton August 5, 1961 in Cadiz, OH and she survives. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Albion. He belonged to Albion Classic Cruisers, and was a member of the Albion Moose. In Ohio, he served with the Volunteer Fire Department and EMT Squad both of Cadiz, OH. He was a graduate of Cadiz, OH High School and Nashville Auto Diesel College and had a career in the Mining Industry in maintenance supervision. He loved cars, tinkering in his shop, bass fishing and golf. Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother: Donald Barker. Kenneth is survived by his wife, Karen of Albion, daughter; Kristin (Robby) Tate of Mt. Vernon, IL, son; K. Scott (David S. Ray) Barker of Washington, D.C., brothers; David (Judy) Barker of Cadiz, OH, Gary (Kathy) Barker of Cadiz, OH, John (Ginny) Barker of Cambridge, OH, one sister-in-law; Jan Barker of Dover, DE, and 3 grandchildren; Kylie Kaskie, Kendall Kaskie, and Eli Wolfe. Funeral service for Kenneth will be Friday, May 27, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home in Albion, IL. Visitation will be Thursday, May 26, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home in Albion. Services will also be held in Cadiz, OH at a later date with burial to follow in Cadiz Union Cemetery.
