Lucille Black Hargett went home to be with the Lord at 11:41 a.m., Monday, October 29, 2012 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, IL.

Lucille was born March 10, 1916 in Kentucky a daughter of Robert and Ellen (Nickelson) Black. She married Olen Hargett on May 18, 1935 in West Frankfort. He preceded her in death February 24, 1987.
In addition to raising two sons and one daughter, she worked at Droit's Store in Thompsonville, IL. In her 40's, Lucille returned to school to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked at Franklin Hospital in Benton until she retired.
Until her health began to fail, Lucille was active in her church and had many hobbies. She loved Christmas and decorated every room in her house with nativity scenes and Christmas Villages. Her hobbies included doll making, reading, fancy needlework, and gardening. She was blessed to be able to do these things well into her 80's. Lucille was always ready to share her memories or listen to the memories of others. She will be greatly missed by all who called her mother, grandma, and friend.
She is survived by her two sons: Glen Hargett and wife Linda, and David Hargett and wife Patty, and one daughter Nora Baney, eight grandchildren and many great grand children and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters: Clarice, Una, and Roberta, and an infant son.
As per her wishes, Lucille was cremated. A memorial service will be held in the Community of Christ Church in Thompsonville at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 11, 2012. A private burial will be held after the service.
