Lawrence D. Phillips Jr.

Lawrence D. Phillips Jr. passed away peacefully in his home August 23, 2012 due to his battle with Alzheimer's. Lawrence was born in Memphis, Tennessee on December 3, 1931. He graduated from the University of New Mexico with a degree in electrical engineering. Lawrence worked for Hughes Aircraft, El Segundo, in the radar systems group for 30 years. He retired from Hughes in 1993. He loved classical music, reading, continuing his education and was an avid exerciser. Lawrence is survived by his wife of 47 years, Suzanne; daughters, Cheryl Murrey (Larry) and Vicki Phillips; grandchildren, Leslie Tramel (Shaun) and Brian Murrey; his brother Thomas Phillips (Lila); his sister Mary Jane Glatt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
