Michael Eugene Endom
February 15, 1954 - August 25, 2013
It is with sadness that his family announces the passing of Michael "Mike" Endom. Mike suffered a brief and unexpected illness on Auguat 25, 2013. He was surrounded by his siblings and friends when he went peacefully into Gods arms to join his parents. Mike was born to Donald Endom and Mary Endom in Santa Monica California on February 15, 1954. He enjoyed a childhood growing up on Avenue F in Redondo Beach, graduating from St. Lawrence Martyr Catholic School, and then Redondo Union High School in 1972. In his adult years Mike worked for several manufacturers in the South Bay. He most liked working as a bartender at some of the South Bays most well-known neighborhood bars. He enjoyed the company of his patrons and shared his firm opinions in lively political discussions. Mike most recently worked at the Starboard Attitude on the Redondo Beach Pier and appreciated the courtesies the owner, Ed Castro, afforded him. He maintained lifelong friendships and made new friends every day. He remained always loyal to family and friends. Mike was a true 'son' of Redondo Beach who enjoyed walking along the Esplanade to get to work. He loved music, movies, and current events. He was a prolific writer and often shared his opinion with 'letters to the editor'. He is survived by his siblings and their spouses, Mary Krahn (Vernon), Melissa Murray (Russell), and Steve Endom (Gina). His memory also continues in the hearts of many nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends. Roger Evans and John Riley shared close friendship with Mike for many years. His siblings appreciate both their long associations with Mike and their concern for him in his final days. Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Endom; and father, Donald Endom. Mike was a gentle and social soul, a beloved friend, brother, son, uncle & great uncle. He will be missed. A celebration of life is being hosted by The Starboard Attitude Bar on the Redondo Beach Pier on Sunday, September 8, 2013 from 1 PM to 7 PM. Please join his family and friends for an afternoon of remembrance. Please sign the guestbook at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.

Thank you for your kind words. Mike is still missed.

I am in total shock. I was in Torrance today and made a point to always see you when I was in town. I stopped at the Zebra Room as that was the last place I knew you were working, Wow! I will always remember the time You, Phil, and me crawled to the Fat Buger at 11:00 pm to Fat Burger and these two cute high school "young ladies" as you called them, came up to Phill and I and asked us if you were Robin Williams, You overheard them and broke out in your Tootsie routine and autographed the napkin for them. Those girls to this day still think the met Robin Williams. The Saturday bike rides from Torrance to Shellback Tavern. God's got the second best bartender now, my Father being first. You were a great friend Michael and one of the funniest people ever. God Bless you buddie and save a bar stool for me. Okay?

I'm still in disbelief of Mikee's passing.I will miss you my friend. My condolences to the family. Mike was a great friend to me. My fondest memory is when he got tickets to my favorite band Dave Matthews and surprised me with a ride to the concert in a limo for my birthday! One of my best birthdays ever! No matter how much time had passed without seeing each other he always made sure to send me a text just to see how I was doing or invite me for a drink, concert, or festival in Redondo. I'll miss you Mike..

I am sorry to learn of Mike's passing. As a long-time resident of The Avenues, I hate to see a neighbor go. Mike's sister, Melissa, was a classmate; and their mother, Mary, was a familiar face at school and around town. Rest in peace, Mike. My heart goes out to his family, friends and all who hold him dear.

I was so sad to hear of Mike's death. Just last week I asked someone if they knew where Mike Endom was these days. It may have even been the day he passed away. I was in his class at RUHS and was a fellow Avenue F'er. I will let my fellow Class of 1972 Sea Hawks know the sad news. My thoughts and prayers are with the Endom family. He will be missed.
