Georgina O. Acebedo Georgina O. Acebedo was born on April 23, 1912 in Arivaca, Arizona to Francisco & Petra Ortiz. With her family at her side, she was peacefully called to the Lord on January 21, 2015 in Wilmington, CA. Predeceased by her husband, Concepcion Acebedo; sons, Johnny Acebedo, Albert Acebedo; daughter, Eva Yanez & grandchildren, Rosemarie Perez & John Sola, she is survived by her daughter, Patty Gutierrez. She leaves her legacy on this earth through her 7 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 26 great-great grandchildren & 2 great-great-great grandchildren. Also survived by many nephews & nieces. Visitation & Service will be on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Harbor Christian Center 1551 W. Q St., Wilmington, CA. Alford, Jack M.  
Jack M. Alford October 11, 1923 - July 21, 2014 A resident of Lomita for most of his 90 years. He was married to Jacqueline (Jackie) Reimer Alford (6-9-27 to 8-18-00) for over 50 years. Survived by son, Michael (Monica Dever) of Lomita; grandson, Christopher of Lomita; sister, Geneva Stimple of Clear Lake, and several nephews. Predeceased by daughter, Joni. He had been a pharmacist at Seaside Pharmacy in San Pedro, CA for over 30 years after graduating from USC as did his son, daughter and grandson, a fact of which he was very proud. Fight On Trojans! He had been a highly decorated B-17 gunner in WWII which eventually led to his love of flying small aircraft. He also loved to hunt and garden. He served Lomita on CDAB for many years. The family wishes to thank his many healthcare professionals including Drs. Mark Lurie and Vinh Cam, Torrance Memorial Hospital and Skypark Dialysis Center. No services were or will be held but a walk celebrating his life is planned for January 31, 2015. Bales, Barbara L.  
Barbara L. Bales Barbara Lucille Bales, age 73 was born on January 30, 1941. Known for having a heart of gold and never turning a stray cat away she suffered the first of two devastating strokes on Christmas Eve. With family at her side, on January 5, 2015, at 7:45 PM our beloved mother peacefully passed away, passing through the Golden Gates of Heaven. She will forever be in our hearts watching over us as an Angel. Born to John Breshears and Frieda Long, Barbara is survived by her three children, Darla, Gail and Jon; eight grandchildren, Matthew, Timothy, Jennifer, Faith, Hope, Glenn, Makena and Dean; and four sister's, Thelma, Elsie, Irene and Donna. A resident of Wilmington, CA for over 42 years, Barbara raised and supported her family by delivering the Daily Breeze Newspaper as an employee and independent contractor for over 25 years. Barbara was privately laid to rest at Mt. Washington Cemetery in Missouri on January 15, 2015 with family in attendance. Corones, Jimmie Spiros  
Jimmie Spiros Corones Longtime resident Jimmie Corones, 93, passed peacefully at home on Nov. 1, 2014 from Alzheimer's. He devoted his life to the Air Force as a pilot beginning in 1942 and retiring as Lt. Col. in 1981. Jimmie planned reunions for the Retired Officers Association and owned a Public Accounting business. Jimmie will be interred at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery on February 3, 2015. O'Melveny, Patrick  
Patrick Taylor O'Melveny April 25, 1984 - January 15, 2015 The son of Don O'Melveny and Susan Dorsey, Patrick Taylor was a favorite son of San Pedro, a graduate of San Pedro High School, member of the Lions Club, and a long time employee of Spirit Cruises of Ports of Call. Known for his generous heart, and random acts of kindness around town – including volunteering for Meals On Wheels, Patrick Taylor had a passion for the sea and the life around it – including boating, fishing, surfing and was a member of the Los Angles Yacht Club with his grandfather, Henry O'Melveny. As a graduate of the Baker's Apprentice Program at Harbor Occupational Center, Patrick Taylor had a fine hand in the kitchen. He was also a gifted photographer and painter with works exhibited in the Sunyata Gallery, San Pedro Art Association, and the Boardwalk Restaurant. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Valerie O'Melveny Cornell, and step-father, Tom Dorsey. There will be a visitation Wednesday, January 28, 2015, 5 – 8 p.m. at McNerney's Mortuary. Services will be held at a later date. Marie "Aunti Rie" Fistonich Guerrero 9/28/1954 - 1/8/2015 Our beloved Auntie Rie passed away January 8, 2015 in San Pedro. Marie's body shall rest. Born to Andrew Fistonich and Pauline Iacono. Marie is survived by her loving husband, Larry Guerrero; Marie's daughters, Aundria, Allison and Ashley; and grandchildren, Noah, Trinity, Savannah and Piper. Marie dedicated her life to bringing family and friends together in her home. Marie would gather with her extended family, her friends, at her spots all over San Pedro. Marie's catch phrases, words of wisdom, and her infectious smile and laugh will forever be instilled in our memory. Marie had a special way of connecting with everyone on a personal level and will be cherished forever in our hearts. She was peacefully called to the Lord on January 20, 2015 in Gardena, CA. Predeceased by her husband, Jose Delgadillo & her son, Edward Delgadillo. She is survived by her children, Maria Elena (Billy) Gallegos, Sandra Nelson, Belen (Leo) Lorenzana, Theresa (Carlos) Maldonado, Rachel (Michael) Ybarra, Nannette Delgado & John Delgadillo. She leaves her legacy on this earth through her 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren & 2 great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by 3 sisters, 1 brother & many nieces & nephews. DiMond Sr., Henry M.  
Henry M. DiMond Sr. Henry M. DiMond Sr. (Hank) departed this world peacefully, January 3, 2015. Henry, the eldest of 2 children, was born July 2, 1924. He volunteered and served with distinction in the U.S. Navy in WWII and Korea. After the war he attended Phillips Exeter Academy and Rutgers University. In 1953, he wed wife Gloria, and they were blessed with 5 children. Sadly, daughter, Elizabeth passed away. His career as a marketing executive with TRW spanned 32 remarkable years that paralleled the developments in modern microelectronics. After retirement, Hank took time to perfect his many hobbies in photography, woodworking and sailing off the coast of his San Pedro home that he shared with his second wife, Constance. He traveled extensively in his retirement and was active in a TRW retiree association, and as commodore of the Buccaneer Yacht Club. Always affable and outgoing, Hank's wit and engaging personality made him many lifelong friends. Henry's passion and zeal for life will surely be missed. He is survived by his brother, Walter, ex-wife Gloria, and sons, Henry Jr., John, David, Douglas and grandchildren, Samantha, Alice, Brittany, McKenna, Connor, Giavanna, Briana, and great- grandchildren, Elliot and Liam as well as many nephews and nieces. A celebration of Henry's life is planned for January 27, 2015 at 1 PM at Rolling Hills Covenant Church (North Campus) 2221 P.V. Dr. North Rolling Hills Estates, CA .
