He attended various grammar schools up and down the state of California but graduated from RUHS. After school he enlisted in the Air Force. When the war ended he went on to college becoming a civil engineer, architect and teacher. Al taught at El Camino College for nearly 30 years, having a private practice also. He met his wife of 64 years, Arline in Torrance. They lived and raised their two boys in Manhattan Beach. He is predeceased by his son, Dennis. A loving, devoted husband, father , grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather and uncle. Al requested no services, but asked that you please keep in touch with Arline, Clark and Lori. He will be greatly missed. Please sign the guestbook at www.dailybreeze.com/obits. "Aloha - Ku uipo"

I am saddened to learn of Al's passing. I remember my visits with the Palmer family with great fondness and gratitude. I have been trying to reestablish contact for many years without success. I hope that the rest of the family is doing well, and hope that we may reconnect. Clark, if you see this, you may reach me at 14120 Harts Lane, Beaverdam, VA 23015

Albert E. Palmer Family
Al was a great instructor and teacher at El Camino College and later friend and engineer of many, many projects. It was a long way from El Camino to Cal Poly Pomona to the AIA Cabrillo Chapter to passing the Licensing Exam to becoming President of the Long Beach / South Bay Chapter of the AIA to President of the AIA Califonia Council in 2013, but I was blessed you were able to see it all happen via one of your students.... You will be missed and I think of you often when I drive by the homestead and get my car washed a block away. The business complex across the street still ranks as one of the best in South Bay. I'm sure Hawaii will miss a great visitor... Thanks for the memories and all you did for my career!
