Amelia S. "Lita" Gorlitz

Amelia S. "Lita" Gorlitz, 89, of San Pedro, CA passed away March 7, 2013. She was born October 22, 1923 in Sunnyside, Utah to Rufino and Luz Madrigal. Amelia lived a very active life, which included volunteering as a CCD teacher at St. Peters Catholic Church and Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. In addition, she dedicated her life to all of her family members and was well known for her excellent cooking and her passion for gardening. She is survived in life by her husband of 48 years, Heinrich Gorlitz; her brother and by her children, Maxine (Don) Crownover, Stella (John) Schindler, Richard Sisneros, James Hermenigildo, Leroy Chacon; her brother, Bill Madrigal; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Jim, Frank, Paul, Alex, Sally, Mercy and Maggie. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 11, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Peters Catholic Church in San Pedro, CA. Per Amelia's wishes she wanted her services to be a cheerful celebration of her life and in doing so she asked that no black be worn.
