Arcadio Cerecer Arellanes Jr.

Arcadio Cerecer Arellanes Jr. "JR"
November 7, 1946 - February 12, 2013

Our brother, uncle, nephew and friend to all went to be with the Lord on February 12, 2013. A lifetime resident of San Pedro he graduated from San Pedro High School, Summer 1966. He was an active waterman and enjoyed all beach sports. He regularly rode his bicycle to Cabrillo Beach to swim with the Cabrillo Beach Polar Bears and visit with his lifeguard buddies. He often stopped to greet friends and storekeepers along the way. He loved movies, art, fishing and spending weekends with his family at Ports O'Call Village. He survived a near tragic bicycle accident over ten years ago and under the watchful eyes of his sisters and doctors he lived a fruitful and meaningful life at Palos Verdes Health Care. He had many friends there and thrived with physical therapy, activities and church. His tenacity, faith and willpower sustained him through many challenges and trials. His courage will always be remembered and serve as a testimony to all that knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arcadio Soto Arellanes, Elvira Cerecer Arellanes; and sister, Alicia Arellanes Luna. He is survived by his loving sisters, Molly Arellanes and Angie (Lionel) Pasamonte; and brother Art Cerecer Arellanes. Surviving aunts, Delores Cerecer and Carmen Gonzalez; and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Viewing visitation will be on Wednesday, February 20th from 5:00 -8:00 PM at Green Hills Mortuary in Rancho Palos Verdes. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 21st at 10:00 AM, Holy Trinity Catholic Church in San Pedro. Internment to follow at Green Hills Cemetary, Cloisters Mausoleum. Donations can be made in his honor to Heal the Bay or the Surfrider Foundation. Please sign the guestbook at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
