Erminia (Erma) Vargas passed away on Saturday September 7th surrounded by her beloved family. She was born in Salina, Kansas and was a resident of Hermosa Beach for 60 years. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She worked with Redondo Union High School district for 17 years. Erma was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was best known for her spice for life, her luminous smile and her wise advice. She is survived by her devoted husband Senaido Vargas; her loving sister Annie Gil; her son Daniel Vargas; and three daughters, Rachel Heinz, Ana Vargas-Wilson, and Linda Ott as well her five grandchildren and her five great grandchildren. Erma is preceded by her parents, Vicente and Anna Arias, brother Richard Arias, and her sister Lupe Trevino. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Rice Mortuary (5310 Torrance Blvd) on Monday. Sept. 16th from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church (320 Massey St. Hermosa Beach, CA). Services will be held on Tuesday September 17, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City.
