Gladys passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at home with her family by her side. She was born in Henryetta, OK to parents, John and Rosie Wallace, but resided for most of her life in Southern California. Gladys worked many years at La Marina Restaurant. Making Playa del Rey their home, husband, John, and Gladys enjoyed friends, the love of the beach, countless gorgeous sunsets, the Harbor Room where "no lies were told," and a little garage "sale-ing". They also shared a love of horse racing and owned a number of fine winning thoroughbred horses, including one named Gladys My Love. Preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Homer, Ralph and Julius Wallace, brothers, Jack and Jim Snow. She is survived by her husband, John, of Playa del Rey; sons, Larry (Julie) Johnson and Jimmy (Joy) Mainwaring; daughters, Marilyn Poblasco and Sheila Corugedo; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. The family will have a memorial service honoring "Glady" at a future time. We give special thanks to Sheila and Cornerstone Hospice for your loving, sensitive care.
