Herta (Halbrichter) Stallings

Passed away peacefully in her home, on Monday, October 8th, 2012, after a lengthy fight with ovarian cancer. She was born December 13th, 1941, in Nurnberg, Germany. Herta spent her young years as a child growing up during the later war times of WWII. After the war years, Herta met her lifelong husband, Walter (Bud) Stallings of San Pedro, California, who was serving in the US Army in Nurnberg in the late 50's. After marrying, Herta and Bud moved to San Pedro and happily spent the rest of their lives there. Herta worked over 30 years at the Alpine Inn restaurant in Torrance. She also traveled and visited all over the world throughout her life, which she enjoyed very much. Herta was preceded in death by her husband, Bud, who passed away last year. She is survived by her sons, Wayne, of Rancho Palos Verdes, and Jim, of Seabeck, WA; a sister-in-law, Celeste; brother-in-law, Charles; and grandchildren, Neil, Drew, Audrey, and Kyle. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, October 13th, 9am, at Green Hills Memorial Chapel, 27501 S. Western Avenue in Rancho Palos Verdes, followed by a reception at Herta's home.
