Jacqueline Felando
passed away August 19,2013 at the age of 101. She was born in Komiza, Croatia on July 25, 1912 to Vinka Matte Zuanich. She came to America at the age of 8 in 1920. She was detained at Ellis Island before making her way to San Pedro, California, where she was told the streets were paved in Gold! She was a resident of San Pedro for 93 years. At the very young age of 16 she married the love of her life - Anton(Spike)Felando. Four years later they started their family and had 3 children - Anita, Anton, and Matthew. A tragic death took her beloved husband, leaving her widowed at 30 years old.To care for her children, she eventually went to work at Star Kist Cannery, where she retired after 25 years of service. Jacqueline loved to cook for family and friends, and there was always an over abundance of food!She loved to garden, and took great pride in her roses. She also loved to travel, taking well over 25 cruises all over the world!She belonged to the Anderson Senior Citizens, and the Dalmatian American Club. Jacqueline is preceded in death by her husband; Anton,sister; Lucy Hansen grandson; Lewis Anton Smith,son; Matthew Felando. Jacqueline is survived be her daughter Anita Smith, and her son Anton Felando, her grandchildren; Tony (Natalie) Felando, Gail Felando, Diane Felando, Lori (Steve) Wheeler, David (Claudia) Felando, Matthew Felando, Andrea (Mike) Calandrino, as well as her great grandchildren; Allison, Luke, Shannon, Chase, David, Desiree, Ela, Dominique, Noah, Luc, Peter, Winter, Jazmyn, Andre, Alex, Natasha, and Angelina, as well as many nieces and nephews.
