Leone Margaret Kalash
A 70 year resident of the South Bay, passed away December 21, 2012 in Torrance. Born in Charlotte, MI on March 31, 1921, "Lee" was 91. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Mary Rybnikar; 3 sisters, 1 brother, and her husband, Ernest Kalash. She is survived by son, David (Elaine) Kalash; daughters, Sandra Kalash, and Cheryl (Michael) Proffitt; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. After attending Business College in Grand Rapids, Lee worked for the state of MI as a secretary. She moved to Inglewood, CA in 1944 and worked for Northrop Aircraft in the Engineering Dept. She retired from the Centinela Valley Union High School District, after 30 years of dedicated service. Lee loved to travel, read, play cards, JEOPARDY, and debate world issues. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, January 18, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Rice Mortuary, 5310 Torrance Blvd.,Torrance, CA 90503. A reception will follow.
