Margaret Rowe

Margaret Teresa Rowe
Margaret ("Mickey") Teresa Rowe, 93, of Hermosa Beach, died peacefully in her sleep on October 30, 2012. Mickey was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a Hermosa Beach resident for over 70 years and considered herself a "native" although she was born and raised in Philadelphia by her parents, both Irish immigrants. Mickey loved all activities that involved her family and especially enjoyed the Thanksgiving holidays when the clan would gather to celebrate another year of health and happiness. Doing crossword puzzles, reading the newspaper, gardening and tending her roses, talking on the phone, drinking coffee and gabbing with her friends were all favorite pastimes. Mickey possessed an adventurous spirit and was always ready for trips to museums, the theatre, or wherever she was asked to go. She traveled to 48 states in her lifetime, and at the age of 83 traveled to England and Ireland with her friend Phyllis for a trip that was an adventure of a lifetime. She even kissed the Blarney Stone! Mickey's family will miss her gentle and kind ways, her positive outlook on life, and her happy disposition. Preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Cleveland Leslie Rowe, she is survived by her sons, Bill Rowe of Hermosa Beach, Charles Rowe of Hermosa Beach and John Rowe of San Diego; one sister, Betty Ford of Pennsylvania; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
