Ramon Rendon

Ramon Rendon was born on March 3, 1943 in Sonora, Mexico. The eldest of 7 siblings, he migrated to the US at the age of 12 and settled in Wilmington, California where he maintained his residence for 57 years. As a youth he attended Holy Family Catholic School in Wilmington, St. Anthony High School in Long Beach and completed his education at Phineas Banning High School. At the age of 18 he started working as a longshoreman for the ILWU Local 13, and later to Local 63 and was a proud member of the ILWU for 40 years. Ramon was sworn in as a proud citizen of the United States in 1960. Ramon went home to be with the Lord with his family by his side on November 28, 2012 in Wilmington, CA. He is survived by his wife Minelia Rendon, son Ramon Rendon, daughters Sandra Rendon Ale, Carmen Rendon, twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
