Suzanne Kay
Scheick Vusovich

Suzanne Kay Scheick Vusovich, of Tempe, AZ, formerly of Manhattan Beach, CA, passed away on December 5, 2012, listening to Beach Boys music, with her children, Derek and Drew, her sisters Cherie and Holly, and her friend Jennifer Wallin by her side. She was born June 6, 1951 to Marjorie and Duane Scheick, in Hillsdale, Michigan. Suzanne married Gregory (Greg) Vusovich on April 24, 1982, and they lived in Manhattan Beach and Palm Desert, CA. Suzanne worked for Computax, TRW, Flying Tigers and Rockwell as a Computer Specialist before moving to Arizona. The daughter of a man who loved airplanes, Suzanne met Greg at Flying Tigers where they bonded over their love for aviation. Greg became a full-time airshow pilot shortly after they purchased their 1939 UPF-7 open cockpit WACO in 1983 and Suzy was very active in air show scheduling and booking rides for Greg's customers. She always loved flying with Greg, and loved her two children, Derek born in 1984, and Drew born in 1987. She was extremely proud of both of them and had high hopes for their excellent future. She proudly lit a candle at the wedding for Drew to Kevin Ghose in October and enjoyed sharing that special day with her friends and extended family. Suzy spent her last Thanksgiving with Gayle and Terry Huntling and their family, and said her favorite picture of Drew's wedding was the one of her two children dancing together at the reception. Over the last few years, Suzy's health deteriorated and she lost most of her vision. Her ex-husband Greg passed away in 2011 which was also an extreme sorrow for her and her family. Suzy is survived by her son, Derek Vusovich, of Tempe, AZ, her daughter Drew (Kevin) Ghose, her mother , Marjorie Scheick of Clarkstone, MI, her sister Holly Scheick of Tempe, AZ, her sister, Cherie Scheick of Santa Fe, NM, her sister, Laurie Scheick, of Jackson, MI, her sister, Kelli (Ed) Gignac and nieces Mallory and Kylie of Waterform, MI, her brother Patrick (Danita) Scheick and her nephews, Aidan and Devin of Clayton, MI, and was predeceased by her father, Duane Scheick of Hillsdale, MI. Suzanne had many close friends who are also extremely saddened by her death. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation for all the prayers. A memorial is planned for family and friends in the South Bay in February or March. Please sign the guestbook at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
