Alice May Owings Obituary

Alice May Owings, a 60-year resident of Redondo Beach, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 in Redondo Beach, at the age of 91. She was born in Ellington, CT on January 14, 1919. She moved to Manhattan Beach in the 30s and worked in the insurance industry and later worked at D&B Appliances in Manhattan Beach for over 20 years. She married Ken Owings in 1950, helped raise his daughter, Patty and went on to have two children. Alice is survived by her daughter, Judy Susoeff of Redondo Beach; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She is predeceased by her husband, Ken E. Owings and their son, Roddy Owings. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 4, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Salvation Army in Redondo Beach with a reception immediately following. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Green Hills Memorial Park, Rancho Palos Verdes. Please sign the guestbook at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
