Annette McManus, 74 died July 6, 2014 at home in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. Born July 14 in Freeport, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Arnold and Helen Judd Kuhlemeier. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg. Annette was a 1957 graduate of Freeport Senior High School and was awarded and Illinois State Scholarship to attend Northern Illinois University where she graduated in 1960. August 16, 1959 Annette married Bobby (Bob) McManus in Freeport.
After teaching school in Illinois, Annette and Bob moved to California where they lived on Longhill Drive in Rancho Palos Verdes for 33 years.
Annette did accounting for Peninsula Stationers, worked at Cole-Green Market Research, and volunteered at Cabrillo School in San Pedro. Annette was a troop leader and the Silver Spur Neighborhood chair and was awarded the Thanks Badge by the LA Girl Scout Council. She spent 35 years with Girl Scouts. She was also given an award by the local PTA for her service to children. Annette was a member of The American Association of University Women.
Surviving are her husband Bob who taught at Rolling Hills and Peninsula High Schools for 33 years; daughters, Alesia McManus and her husband David Forsyth of Columbia, MD, Barbie McManus of Rancho Palos Verdes, and Caryn McManus of Greenbelt, MD; brothers, Fred Kuhlemeier of Montrose, CO and Jim Kuhlemeier of Tonka Bay, MN.
