Antoinette Beaumont Tomasek, a crown jewel among precious gems, passed away suddenly in Haiti on June 29, 2013. She was a sparkling 41 years old. Commonly known as Toni, she was raised in Manhattan Beach, California. The youngest of three, she regretfully leaves behind her mother Marilyn Beaumont; father William H. Beaumont; brother Billy Beaumont; sister Jeannie Beaumont; four nieces (Sadie Beaumont, Anna Krupka, Molly Beaumont and Indie Beaumont-Gould); and two nephews (Bodie Beaumont-Gould and Nicholas Krupka). Beloved wife of Adam Tomasek for 12 magnificent, yet far too few, years, her star will continue to shine through their son Alexandre (age 8) and daughter Amelie (age 7). Toni began exploring the world at age 16; she studied in Brazil and later in Spain. She served as Peace Corps Volunteer in Paraguay, and thereafter her professional career took her across Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa and Asia. She and her husband were determined to raise global citizens, traveling far and wide with their kids and living in Indonesia for nearly 5 years prior to her recent relocation to Haiti. A specialist in international public health and intercultural education, Toni was a highly respected Foreign Service Officer for USAID. Her unwavering dedication to development and foreign assistance positively improved the lives of many vulnerable families around the world. With family at the core, Toni embraced life, friends and career with an extraordinary commitment, kindness and energy that will never be forgotten. Aided by her infectious smile and contagious spirit, she had a precious ability to inspire others to always work hard and do their part to make the world a better place. Toni will forever be remembered for her tremendous enthusiasm and passion for everything she did. From running marathons to knitting to learning new languages, no challenge was too big or too complex. She was fluent in Spanish, Indonesian, French, Guarani, as well as the universal language of compassion. Toni received a Bachelor's in Environmental Engineering from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo, and a Master's in Sociology from American University. She will be missed forever. Services to be held at White and Day Mortuary in Manhattan Beach, CA. Viewing on Monday, July 8 from 5-9pm and Memorial Service on Tuesday, July 9 at 7pm.
