Barbara Leischner Obituary

Barbara Joan Leischner passed away peacefully at home in Harbor City on Saturday, December 4, 2010 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on November 18, 1930 in Torrance, California to loving parents, John Laverne and Anna Margret Hammack. She attended Narbonne Junior High and graduated from San Pedro High in 1948. She is survived by her children, Gary, Brenda and Dale; her stepchildren, Michael, Stephanie, Debbie and Dana; daughters-in-law, Kim, Karen, Yuki and Donna; sons-in-law, Brannan, Daniel and Mark; grandchildren, Gary, Gregg, Gail, Brittney, Chantiel, Delsie, Kendall, Miki, Shannon, Josh and Briana; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron; her son, John Russell; her brother, Richard Hammack; and her parents, John Hammack and Anna Baker. Services will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Green Hills Mortuary on south Western Avenue in Rancho Palos Verdes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family would also like to thank Companion Hospice for the care and support given to our mother during her time of need.
