Bruce W. Walker Obituary

Bruce W. Walker, 63, of San Pedro, CA was born on November 20, 1946 in Portland, OR, the eldest child of Clyde and Rebecca Walker. Bruce graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in computer science in 1968 and in 1969 he graduated from UC Berkeley with a master's in computer science. Bruce earned a certificate in programming languages and systems from UCLA in 1976. On June 23, 1969 Bruce joined Logicon (now Northrop Grumman Information Technologies). During his 40-year career with Northrop he worked on a number of high profile projects including the development of GPS, B-2 Bomber Mission Software, B-1 Bomber Mission Software, National Missile Defense (NMD) Trajectory Software, C-17 Systems Engineering and the Joint Strike Fighter F-35 - Pilot Software. Bruce loved playing bridge. He was also an avid skier and an active member of the Beach Cities Ski Club for 40 years. Survivors include his longtime significant other, Toni Parnell; his brother, Craig Walker; and niece, Cheryl Walker of Albuquerque, NM.
