Catherine Butler Obituary
Beloved daughter of Herman and Virginia Moreno and baby sister to Viki Kidner (Ben), Suzanne Larkin (Michael), Pamela Butler and Erin Rainier (Mike), slipped peacefully into Heaven after enduring poor health for many years. She enjoyed life and had many friends from every walk of life. She volunteered for various organizations including: Joseph and Mary Retreat and was a member of the D.A.R. Cathie was born May 6, 1961 in Inglewood, CA and lived her entire life in the South Bay. She attended South School, Pier Ave. School in Hermosa Beach and graduated from Mira Costa High School. She loved her twelve nieces and nephews, Hollie, Tyler, Benjamin and Caitlin Kidner, Hayley and Chelsea Larkin, Colin, Cody, Casey Mullenaux and Maysea, Terra and Stuart Rainier. She leaves behind her beloved grandmother, Victoria Mann and 10 aunts and uncles, 28 cousins, 1 grandniece and her dear friends, Georgia Higgins, Sue Belotti and Sister Claire. A memorial service will be held Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 25511 Eshelman Ave., Lomita, CA. We are so sorry to see this about Cathy. Never knew she was ill ...but was always so sweet and happy `at the beach' with our kids..A loss is so hard..please let us know if we can do any thing for you guys..Hang in there Virginia..you are a strong lady..always have been. You also Herm.

I met Cathy while living on First st. in Hermosa. She was a warm beautiful lady. I enjoyed her company and felt blessed to know her. I'm very sorry for your loss. Heaven has a special angel.

You don`t know me but I went to school at Costa with Kathy,
She was always sweet and nice to me. She was in a few of my classes. I will not forget her.

Cathy was a sweet and caring person. She taught a lot of us at Pier and Costa the meaning of acceptance and understanding. We are very sorry for your loss. She touched a lot of us in her short life.

I am so sorry for your loss, I went to Pier Ave. with Cathy, we used to volunteer together at the nursing home in Hermosa together... she also was so kind to everyone she meet, I remember one time we made a cherry cake and took it to the nursing home she loved to see the seniors smile when we brought things to them... that is what I will remember her face when she saw they liked what we did....
