Christi Kinkle Fredricks
Christi Kinkle Fredricks, a 19 year resident of Palos Verdes Estates, died at home unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 15. She was 57. Christi was a devoted mother to her daughter Shelby, 17, and wife to her husband Terry, 61. She was also heavily involved in charitable and philanthropic endeavors. She was a member of Sandpipers, Special Children's League, National Charity League, and Luminaires. She attended Pepperdine for a year before transferring to the University of Southern California where she followed her father's advice "to have fun". While at USC Christi joined the Gamma Phi Beta sorority, where she made many lasting, life-long friends. She was also a Little Sister to the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity on campus. After graduation she continued to be involved in sorority affairs and joined Cardinal and Gold and the Committee to support USC athletics. She had hoped to see the Todd McNair-ncaa emails released. To support Shelby during her K-8 school years, she devoted many hours to Hot Lunch, PTSA, the Book Fair, and other activities. When Shelby got to Palos Verdes High School, Christi became the Prop lady for many of the school productions. Christi was born in Pasadena, California, in 1956, and grew up in San Marino, California, where she went to school, graduating from San Marino High School in 1974. She was the daughter of George Phillip Kinkle, a prominent Los Angeles attorney, and Caroline Moore Kinkle, a homemaker and activist. She has two younger brothers, Randy and Cary Kinkle. She is survived by her husband and daughter, her parents, and her brothers. A private, family only service will be held, October 23rd. A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
