Clair Winton Johnson

Clair Winton Johnson, born January 7, 1923 in Aliquippa, PA. Graduated from Torrance High in 1942, and served in the Army from 1943 to 1946. Married his high-school sweetheart, Virginia. Played baseball for the Indianapolis Indians. Operated Atlantic Richfield service stations for 22 years, and worked as a mechanic for the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years. Clair was a fun-loving man who was able to create joy in everyday existence. He lived simply, loved well, and was forever devoted. He will be missed by all and is survived by his wife, Virginia; children, Diane, Bart and Suzy; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 23rd, at First Christian Church of Torrance, 2930 El Dorado St. A donation may be made in Clair's memory to First Christian Church of Torrance.
