Clarabelle Eleanor Hayashida, a 48-year resident of the South Bay, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2010 in Torrance. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Eleanor was 76 when she died. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Redondo Beach. Eleanor is survived by her husband of 54 years, Stanley Hayashida of Torrance, CA; daughter, Karen Redwine of Moreno Valley, CA; son, Dale T. Hayashida of Torrance, CA; daughter, Jo A. Hudson or Allen, TX; 6 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Abigail and Joseph Prejean. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Rice Mortuary in Torrance on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 from 5 to 9pm with a rosary at 7pm. The Mass will be held at St. James Catholic Church in Redondo Beach on Wednesday, October 27 at 10:00 a.m., with a reception in the Rice Lighthouse Reception Room immediately following until 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. James Catholic Church. elly as we called her at sears was a wonderful women and spoke highly of her family. i had a privledge to be her coworker. she was a wonderful lady, sorry for your loss.
