It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Clyde O. Boothe, 91. He peacefully passed away at the family home in Rolling Hills Estates, CA on December 20th, 2012 with his family by his side. Clyde was born April 25th, 1921 in Richfield, Minnesota, later moving to Glendale, Ca. where he graduated from Hoover High School in 1939. Clyde signed up with the U.S. Navy in 1942 and served as an Aviation Machinist Mate for the remainder of WWII. After his discharge from Naval Service in 1946 he attended The University of Southern California earning a degree in Chemical Engineering. While attending USC he met his wife of 62 years, Frances Tomlinson (Whittier, CA). He started his career at Standard Oil (El Segundo), then working for Farr Filtration (El Segundo), retiring in 1984 to start a computer consulting business. He enjoyed woodworking, building and flying model airplanes, computer programming and driving around the scenic Palos Verdes Peninsula. A dedicated husband, wonderful father and grandfather, Clyde loved his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Frances; sons, Steve, Bob (Alison Kish, deceased) and Allen (Paula); grandchildren, Ellianna, Karina, Kandace, Justin and Conrad Boothe; nephews, Neal Boothe, Bill, Ken, Tom and John Tomlinson; nieces, Crissy MacKenzie and Danelle McCarty. Clyde was a loving, kind, compassionate and intelligent man, who will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made to The San Pedro and Peninsula YMCA, 301 South Bandini Street, San Pedro, CA 90731.
