Dale G. Anderson

August 21, 1929 - December 12, 2012

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dale G. Anderson, 83. He passed away at his home in Hermosa Beach, CA on December 12. Dale was born in Providence, Rhode Island and spent most of his life in Southern California. He was a graduate of LMU, where he received both a BA and MA degree. He met his wife of 51 years in Germany, while on an overseas teaching assignment. He was a life long educator. He loved the ocean, was a fisherman, surfer, lifeguard and back-packer. He loved playing his clarinet and was a member of the El Camino Band for 20 years. He spent hours practicing his clarinet in his garage, next to his beloved red VW Bus. The garage will never be the same. A dedicated husband and wonderful father and grandfather (Opa), Dale deeply loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Karin; daughter Kirsten (Daniel); daughter Stephanie (Allen); daughter and son-in-law, Tina and William Carranza; grandchildren Michael Deguchi Jr., Joseph Deguchi, Tia Deguchi, Thomas Deguchi, LaReina Carranza and Valerie Carranza; sister Joan Anderson; brother Donald (Connie); many relatives in New England and friends in Germany. Dale was a loving, kind, compassionate and intelligent man, who will be missed by all. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the or LMU.
