Dennis Beyersdorff died in Bakersfield, California on April 21, 2013, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. Dennis was born in Merrill, Wisconsin, September 9, 1930, to Bilda Fehr and Theordore Beyersdorff. At the age of 17, he hitch-hiked to Los Angeles, California and began attending South LA Bible Church and Biola University majoring in theology and education. He met the love of his life, Joanne Beyersdorff, at church. They were married on July 11, 1952 and had four children. Dennis and his family resided in Torrance, California for most of his adult life. He taught junior high school for six years at Perry Elementary and also worked in construction. He formed Timely Construction Company with his business partner and friend, Richard Santiago, and together they worked as a general contractor for the next forty years. He enjoyed building and working in concrete. He served in his beloved church, Hope Chapel, for 30 years as a mini church shepherd and church elder. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, oil painting and poetry. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Joanne, child Sharon, grandchild Taylor and brother Timothy. He is survived by his three children: Steven (Dawn), Karen (Glenn) and Kurt (Shannon), six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, sister, mother-in-law and large extended family. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Hope Chapel located at 2420 Pacific Coast Hwy, Hermosa Beach, CA. He will be greatly missed.
