Dina Gonzales Obituary
Dina has gone to be with her Lord. Born in Cayey, Puerto Rico, Dina moved with her family to New York at the age of four, eventually relocating to the Los Angeles area in her teens. She married Ralph Gonzales in 1949 and later moved to Torrance where they raised three daughters. Dina was an active member of the Torrance First Baptist Church for 44 years, where she had many friends. She enjoyed her hobbies of reading, knitting, crocheting and a variety of sports activities and traveled extensively with her husband. She was a Torrance resident throughout the remainder of her life. She is survived by her husband, Ralph; sister, Irma (Fred) Huerta; and sister-in-law, Mary Luna; daughters, DeLayne Gonzales, Debra (Roy) Dickerson, RaeLynn (Dan) Rollino; seven grandchildren, Sarah (Brant) Rowe, Joy (Joe) Bailey, Ryan (Tami) Dickerson, Kasey Dickerson, Christian (Jamie) Rollino, Patrick Rollino, Dominique Rollino; and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Green Hills Mortuary. Visitation is Tuesday, October 12, 2010, 3-8 p.m. Interment is private on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. and memorial service is Saturday, October 16, 2010, 3:00 p.m. at Torrance First Baptist Church. I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. I know that she was ill from our discussion at the reunion. My heart goes out to you and your family at this most difficult time. Debbie and Family,
I was so sorry to hear about your mother's passing. When I talked with you at the reunion you mentioned she was not doing well. I have many fond memories of her from Girl Scouts. She was our leader for several years. I remember at camp she was a counselor and they had to pick names from candy bars and she picked the name Uno. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I know how hard it is to lose a parent. May God give all of you peace and comfort.
