Dorothy Marie Woodworth Obituary
Dorothy Marie Woodworth

Soon after her 100th birthday, Dorothy Marie Woodworth went home to be with the Lord on April 4th. She was at home surrounded by her loving family. Born to Elizabeth and Charles Bartosh on March 30, 1913, the family moved to Southern California when she was two. Dorothy spent much of her early years performing in a dance group. In 1930 they toured the states on the Fanchon & Marco circuit in "The New Yorker" produced by LeRoy Prinz, a well-known Broadway director. Dorothy married Herbert Woodworth in 1931. They had four children, Dorilee, Herbert Jr., Melodee and Wendy. She spent her married life bringing up her children and being an excellent homemaker. She was interested in many things, gardening being a big passion. She created beautiful gardens and grew her own fruits and vegetables. She cooked, sewed and during the kid's school years was active in the PTA, serving as president several times, and in community work. The family spent many great vacations and weekends camping on the Kern River and in Yosemite and traveling to other places. She is survived by her children and 7 grandchildren, Michael, Gregory, Dana, Diana, Shelley, Sara and Shana. She also leaves behind 6 great grandchildren and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert; her brother, Howard and an 8th grandchild, Dawn. Dorothy took an active part in the churches she has attended, some of which included teaching Sunday School. She was a great example of a follower of Christ and played a big role in bringing the family to Him. She loved the Lord and spent time each day in prayer and Bible reading and study. She had a warm, loving spirit, accepting people and seeing the good in everyone. She always had a positive attitude and encouraging words to share along with her warm smile. She is greatly missed by family and friends. Her legacy of love and caring will be with us always. Please sign the guest book at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
