Francisco Martinez Obituary

Francisco A. Martinez was lifted by his angels on October 15, 2010, to join Our Heavenly Father. He passed away at Kaiser Permanente in Harbor City. Francisco was born in Santa Monica, CA. on December 26, 1957. He lived 29 years in the West Los Angeles area, 4 years in Lomita and the last 20 years in San Pedro. He was a banker for 25 years but his main occupation in life was being the best husband and father anyone could have asked for. He enjoyed and loved various music, nature, photography, hiking and the Steelers, but most of all his family and friends. For the past 7 1/2 years Francisco bravely fought against his illness with brain cancer. That battle led him on an incredible journey where he taught us that life does go on and that cancer is not a life sentence. Francisco had a gentle and loving heart and inspired everyone he knew by living each day with a smile on his face and living life to the fullest. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Petra Martinez, and his brother, Juan (Margie). He is survived by his wife, Aurora; his son, Ryan Francisco; his sisters, Alicia (Carlos) and Maria (Ernie); cousins; nieces; and a great niece. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2010, 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church followed by inurnment at Green Hills Memorial Park. Burlingame, CA 94010-1795. You are welcome to leave the family a message or share memories at www.mcnerneysmortuary.com or sign the guestbook at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.

Aurora and Ryan,
Francisco is one of the best men we have ever known. He exuded warmth and kindness always. He was forever smiling. You couldn't help but notice his positive outlook on life. Cisco was one of those rare people who made the world a better place by just being in it. You know, it's fitting that he was lifted up by angels; because while he was here among us, he always was one.
Friends always,
Max,Julie and Maddie Witthuhn

Mrs. Martinez, I met you and Francisco a year and a half ago during the Friday Stations of the Cross. My nephew was newly diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor. I remember Francisco's comforting words.....and thought what a truly amazing man as he shared his own story. I am very sorry for your loss and know you find comfort knowing he is in heaven. I will keep you all in my prayers.

Mrs. Martinez, I had the pleasure of working with Frank a few years back while at Prism Processing along with Brenda Pacheco and although he wasn't there for very long, the little time I got to speak to him and get to know him I knew right away he was one of the good guys. There is not an ounce of doubt in my mind that it was angels that came on that 15th day of October, 2010. I am sorry for your loss, may he always be with you in spirit and in thought.
