Frazier (Mo) Morino passed away peacefully at home in Palos Verdes Estates, CA on December 17, 2012. He was 98. The son of Italian immigrants, he was born March 27, 1914 in Wickhaven, Pennsylvania. After working briefly in the coal mines of western Pennsylvania, he decided to pursue a career in aviation. He attended Parks College in East St. Louis, Illinois and then joined American Airlines in Chicago as an aircraft mechanic in 1935. He transferred to New York's La Guardia Airport shortly after it opened in 1939. He left New York in 1947 for a position with American's Contract Air Cargo Division in St. Joseph, Missouri. A year later, Mo relocated to Los Angeles where he remained until his retirement in 1975. His career, spanning the golden age of commercial aviation, began repairing the fabric on biplanes and ended overseeing repairs on Boeing 747s and Douglas DC-10s as a manager of aircraft maintenance. Mo will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and moderate lifestyle. He was a devoted father and grandfather who passed on to his sons his passion for aviation. He touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his sister Margaret Bober and his brother Onofrio Morino.
