Guadalupe Perez Obituary

Guadalupe "Lupe" A. Perez, 84, died Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Providence Little Company of Mary Hospital from a sudden stroke. She is survived by her children: Anita, Lupe, Victoria, George, Christine, Robert and Theresa; 28 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; many friends and neighbors. Born on April 29, 1926 and raised in Oro Grande, CA, the daughter of Bernardo and Luz Alvarez, she was a lifelong resident of Redondo Beach. In her early years, Mrs. Alvarez along with her soulmate George B. Perez owned their family restaurant "The Spanish Inn Cafe" in Hermosa Beach. Lupe was also involved in her community by contributing her time and efforts to the Redondo Beach schools and hosting the city voting poll for years. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Pacific Crest Cemetery in Redondo Beach with a private burial where she will be reunited with her lifelong partner, George B.
