Jack Woolman Obituary
Jack P. Woolman
Jack, the son of Fred and Ruth Woolman was born March 4, 1918 in Gebo, Wyoming, and passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 in his home in the care of Milestone Hospice and with his longtime care giver, Eric and granddaughter, Corinne Blackmore in Torrance, California. He served in the U. S. Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. Jack was a hard working person and family man, all of his life. He worked years in the Mt. Harris, Colorado Coal Mine, then worked 30 years for Mobil Oil in Torrance, California, and rarely missed a day of work. He did his duty, served his country, employers, and was deeply committed to living an upstanding life. From his example, he taught his kids and others how to work. He was honest and forthright all of his life. He doesn't leave many of life's footprints behind. Jack was preceded in death by Viola, his wife of 57 years, and by his brother, Vernal. He is survived by his three children, Charlene and husband, Fred Langer, Fred and Patty Woolman, and Albert Burns; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, his sister-in-law, Ruth Woolman other relatives and friends. The Memorial Service will be Tuesday, December 18th at 12:00 noon at the interment site in Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. Visitation will be same day from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. in the Mortuary. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Milestone Hospice in Torrance, California or the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
