Jesse Blaine "J.B." Graner

Rancho Palos Verdes -- Jesse Blaine, known all his life as "J.B.," Graner, 95, passed away Monday, March 20, 2017 at his home in the presence of his loving wife, Ziba Graner. J.B. was born in Hollywood, California on September 16, 1921 to his parents George Valentine and Stella Augusta Graner.
J.B. graduated from Hollywood High in 1939. He attended Cal-Tech University, MIT and the University of Southern California. J.B. began his military reign in 1942 volunteering to serve his country in the United States Navy and was awarded numerous medals during WWII. He was assigned to the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Intrepid in the Pacific Fleet.
After his return from active duty, J.B. took over as President of the family business, Graner Oil Company. J.B. was an active member of the Petroleum Club, the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Lions Clubs International.
In 1942, J.B. married Mary Jane Bardeen and eventually moved to Rolling Hills Estates, California where he built his home and raised three children. In 1997, he married Suna Heravi and enjoyed 10 years of traveling, Lions Clubs activities and fishing. In 2007, J.B. married his third wife, Ziba Daryabegi, and continued his adventures across the world, Lions activities and family time. He very much enjoyed sharing stories about summers in Minnesota, anything related to the oil industry, cars and his Navy history.
J.B. is preceded in death by: his first wife, Mary Jane Bardeen Graner; his second wife, Suna Heravi Graner; and his daughter, Christine Marie Graner.
He is survived by his wife: Ziba Daryabegi-Graner; his brother: Wallace H. "Wally" Graner; his sons: Steven Charles & Robert Blaine Graner; his grandsons: Andrew S. & Matthew Blaine Graner; and his granddaughters: Melissa Christine & Michelle Kathleen Graner and Jennifer Blayne Hellow.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 31, 2017 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale. Please sign the guestbook at www.dailybreeze.com/obits

Dear Ziba, I'm so sorry i just found this out. My love and many hugs to you and JB's family. JB was one of the most interesting people i've know and i loved hearing his sotries. i feel so blessed to have know him a little.
