I'm so sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of meeting Joann earlier this year when my husband's mom was at the same care center. She always enjoyed seeing my 2 year old, Max, and they enjoyed poking at each other and grinning. We always looked for her on our visits to say hi.
Later, I learned of her connection to Lummi Island and that she had been a friend of my grandma, Ortha Curry. I was able to introduce myself to her as Ortha's granddaughter, and we shared a really special moment. I'll never forget it. She was a wonderful lady and full of life, despite her physical limitations. God Bless you all.
