Kathryn De Mott Obituary

Kathryn passed away peacefully at home on October 10, 2010, at the age of 84. She was born August 13, 1926 in Long Beach, California. Kay was preceded in death by her son, Richard Charles De Mott. She is survived by her husband, Leslie Dwight De Mott; grandchildren, Jeffrey Michael (Donna Nicole) and Kathryn Jeanetta (Mike); great-grandkids, Davis Richard and Gabriella Grace; sister in-law, Carol Pedersen and husband, Roy. She was a longtime resident of the South Bay. She attended Lomita schools, graduating from Narbonne High School. She married her husband, Leslie De Mott on January 18, 1946. She was a woman pilot and water skiing enthusiast. She was a retired school secretary in the Torrance Unified School District. We would like to thank Dr. Michael Smith of HealthCare Partners, Providence TrinityCare Hospice, Cerritos and Josie Smith who made her life easier. Uncle Les,
Its been many years since we have seen each other. Last time was when you took my brother and I flying on your cessna out of lomita airport. It was back in the early 80's and I remember the good times with you and Kay. I am sorry for your loss. God bless and Peace be with you.

I remember Kay fondly from my years at Evelyn Carr School in North Torrance, 1969-1975. She always treated me respectfully, and had a "calm amid the storm" demeanor. The photo is just as I remember her. Condolences to the family.
