Kenneth Swett Obituary

Kenneth Loren Swett of Manhattan Beach, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 19, 2010. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn. They were married on December 13, 1969, and shared a wonderful life together for over 50 years. They lived happily in Manhattan Beach for over 40 years. Kenny was born November 24, 1929 in Santa Barbara, California. He served his country in the United States Air Force, and received the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Services Medal, and Korean Service Medal. Kenny had a Bachelor of Arts in Education and Psychology. He enjoyed golf, cooking, and playing the stock market. He took pride in his classic Ford Thunderbird and Ford Mustang, winning many trophies at car shows. Kenny had Alzheimers disease and spent the last few years in the Reminiscence Section of Sunrise Senior Living of Hermosa Beach where he tended to the garden, listened to stories and songs, and played with the resident dog and cat. "Uncle Kenny" is also survived by six nieces and nephews, Scott Swett, Leslie Monahan, Kimberly Monahan, Bill Monahan, Kelly Monahan Taylor, and Meagin Monahan Scott. A private family celebration of his life was held at Glen Haven Memorial Park in Sylmar, California, on Saturday, September 25, 2010. In Kenny's memory, those who wish may make a donation to their favorite charity.
