Kitty Esposito Obituary

Mother, Grandmother, Sister,
Friend, Christian

Born October 6, 1931 in Akron, Ohio, passed away October 29, 2010 in Torrance, CA of cancer. Kitty (aka Meredith Juanita Esposito) lived in Mansfield, Ohio until coming to California in 1943. She said her mother had to pry her hands off the door knob to get her in the car to leave Ohio. When the family reached Los Angeles, they took Sunset Blvd route to the ocean, the sun was just setting by then and Kitty fell in love with California and vowed to never live anywhere else. She loved the Republican Party, the Presbyterian Church, most music (Rossini to Air Supply), the ocean, Lake Gregory, Palm Springs and any form of bookkeeping (her life's work). She was embarrassingly patriotic. Her greatest loves were her children. She leaves behind her daughter, Angela Esposito-Strandberg; sons, Patrick, Philip and Peter Esposito; her grandchildren, who she considered the height of joy and happiness, Peter, Andrew, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Dylan, Spencer; and great granddaughter, Alyssa; her friend and daughter-in-law, Beth; sister and brother-in-law, Suzanne and Joe Nuciforo; brothers, Christopher, Jon (deceased), Allen and Carl Weingartner; another brother, Roger who at age 7, drowned during a flood. Kitty said that was the greatest tragedy and test of faith her family ever endured. When she was younger, she was a Deacon in her church, taught Sunday school, was Children's Choir Mother and active in scouting from Brownies to Cadets. She held many different positions in PTA and was room mother for all her children. She was on the election board and in many other capacities to get out the vote. The services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 731 S. Averill Ave., San Pedro on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 1:30pm.
