Marjorie March Obituary

August 18, 1926 - September 5, 2010

My mom, Marjorie, went to heaven to be with my dad, her husband Bob the sweetheart of her life, on September 5, 2010. She went peacefully with her family by her side. Margie (to her friends) was born in Los Angeles and attended Hamilton High School along with her now deceased brother, Jack Redalje. When my mom was 14 she met Bob on a bus in Culver City. He didn't know it then but she had decided they would be married someday. On August 17, 1946 they were married in a chapel in Las Vegas. In 1956 they had me, their only child, Anita (Barth) and in 1958 moved to Redondo Beach where they spent 25 beautiful years together until my dad's death in 1983. They were of the "martini generation" and loved to entertain. Margie was a gourmet cook and had a real talent for treating her guests to delicious food and good times. As my dad built up his car leasing business they started traveling and eventually built their vacation home in Bullhead City, AZ in 1976. Countless guests have been pampered there. In 2005 my husband, myself and our kids had the privilege of helping her move next door to us in Torrance. Mom and Don turned that house into a "princess" house and she enjoyed the rest of her life watching her garden blossom, cooking her grand kids favorites especially Boston cream pie, homemade strawberry jam and root beer floats. She loved visiting with family, her adored grandchildren, (Eric, Jennifer and Sarah), her long time friends (Genny and Ana Marie), her newest friends from PEP (Mary-Kay, Peggy and Mary) and her very recent friends who helped take care of her, (Laura and Patty aka Bubba), Don, and myself. My mom will be greatly missed by all who knew her. We love you "Grama" and "we'll see you in the morning". We will be having a memorial gathering soon.
