Melissa Hart Weaver

1987 - 2010

We lost our beloved Melissa on June 27, 2010 in a tragic plane crash with three friends during one of her many adventures on a beautiful summer day in western Montana. Melissa was born on March 21, 1987 in Rochester, MN, the first child of Dan Weaver and Kathy Bell Weaver. The family settled in Billings, MT in 1992. During her high school years she played varsity tennis team, was a majorette and played violin in the school orchestra. She loved to sing and was a part of the church youth choir. She graduated cum laude from the University of Montana with a BA in print journalism and psychology. Melissa was a truly beautiful young lady with a wonderful sense of humor. Her smile would light up the room and was both contagious and comforting. She was an incredible daughter, sister, granddaughter and friend who touched the lives of all who knew her. She was never afraid to try new things and was always ready for another exciting adventure. Melissa is survived by her loving parents, Dan Weaver and Kathy Bell Weaver; sisters, Sarah and Emily; brother, Joseph; aunts, Terry Bell Higgins and Carol Bell Nelson; grandmother, Joan Bell; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her beloved grandfather, Carl Bell. A scholarship fund has been set up in her name by the Education Foundation for Billings Public Schools.
