The Guest Book is expired.
Early on the morning of October 7, 2013 Melva Leona Louise Dockings, our mother, grandmother, great grandmother stepped into eternity to the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born to Marie Buss and Frank C. Schuett in Watertown, Wisconsin on April 14, 1927 and was one of eight children. In 1947 she and her family relocated to southern California, where she has resided for the past 66 years. It was here in southern California that she met and married James Dockings. They were married for 54 years, and raised their children in the Torrance area. In 1986 they moved to San Pedro where they resided ever since. She loved all her kids deeply, and was thrilled with the addition of 5 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Melva was a memeber of the South Bay Alliance Church (formerly Hawthorne Christian Missionary Alliance Church) for 63 years. She always enjoyed Friday 'Walton's Night' fellowship at the parsonage. There were friends to visit and yummy food to share. She enjoyed evening rides in the southland and beyond. Melva loved to visit friends and family and discover new restaurants. She loved watching classic television shows. She also frequented the Pacific Northwest to visit family. She is preceded in death by her four brothers and three sisters; her husband, James. She is survived by her son, Danny (Brenda) Dockings; daughter, Connie (Alan) Hill; son, Bruce Dockings; and step daughter, Sharon Shaffer.
