Nancy Giardini lost her battle with COPD on 1/28/13. Born on 5/23/35, she was the youngest of four daughters of Joe and Edna Van Oosbree. She was born in Sioux City, Iowa, but mostly lived in Southern California. She moved to Sutherlin, Oregon in 2011. She is survived by her husband Charles (Chuck) and all three sisters, Bea, Shirley and Mary, her daughter and son-in-law Denise and Kyle Burns and grandson Sam. Her passing is also mourned by Chucks' family, her first husband Richard Foster and his family, and her nieces and nephews, for she was a favorite aunt of many of them. She worked most of her life doing electronic assembly, first at Litton, later at Hughes Aircraft, a job she thoroughly enjoyed. She was even sent to Florida to work on a space shuttle. She was loving, fun, dependable, caring. She started and lived each day with a smile for all. She was very generous with her time and resources. She was a Girl Scout leader and PTA volunteer, through which she made many life-long friends. One of her favorite things to do was traveling with Chuck to visit their many far-flung friends and relatives, especially her sisters. She enjoyed bowling into her 70's, both for the activity and the friendships. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will be a source of love, inspiration, and gratitude until we go to join her. She didn't want a memorial service, but her family would love to hear or read any fond memories anyone wishes to share. Please sign the guest book at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
