Norman Eugene Walden
Passed away on December 27, 2012. He was born on March 4, 1943, in Royalton, Illinois to Eugene and Eva Walden. He joined The United States Marines in 1961 and was stationed at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside California. He served his country proudly for four years honing his cooking skills. After an honorable discharge he briefly returned to his home town before permanently moving to California to be with the love of his life. He worked at McDonnell Douglas then joined the brotherhood of the ILWU starting in 1969 in Local 13 and retired 40 years later in 2008 from Local 63. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching Dodger and Laker games. He loved to cook and bake. His specialties being homemade fudge from scratch, chocolate pies and the best apple pie ever tasted. He loved spending time restoring his 1964 Chevy Chevelle and tinkering in the garage. He is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 44 years, Clara Temblador Walden; daughters, Eva Walden Apolinar (Mike), Vera Walden Oro (Freddie), Lori Walden; son, Norman F Walden (Yvette); and six grandchildren, Katelyn, Chloe, Aaron, Drake, Merek, Kristin and one great grandchild, Jackson; brother, Donald Walden, and aunt, Erma Lenzotti. There are no words to describe how much he is loved and will be missed.
