Paul P. Kamm
May 26, 1933 - February 9, 2014
Paul P. Kamm, 80, passed away peacefully at home February 9, 2014. He is survived by Esther, his wife of 60 years, his children, Sharon (Michael) Hohman, Susan (Matthew) Huey, and Andrew Kamm; also by grandchildren Alex, Kim and Nicholas Hohman and Natasha, Rebecca and Vincent Huey. He also leaves his brother Gary (Linda) Kamm and their sons Steven (Geraldine) and David (Barbara). Preceded in death by brother Ernest Kamm. Survived by sisters-in-law Serene Ductor and Bernice Soibelman, cousins Frieda Lawton and Robert (Nancy) Nicholas. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Paul served in the US Army at Ft. Ord and returned to civilian life to continue his education. He earned two Masters from USC and a law degree from Southwestern University. He taught in the Wiseburn, Lennox and Centinela Valley school districts before joining the staff at El Camino Community College as a professor of Business Law. He greatly enjoyed lecturing to thousands of students in his thirty year career at El Camino and always sought to improve their understanding and wisdom of his subject and was gratified when he would hear of their personal and professional accomplishments. Additionally, during this time he also practiced law in Inglewood and later in Torrance. Paul and Esther spent their retirement years traveling and enjoying their family and friends who will greatly miss him. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
