Robert Codey Obituary
Bob Codey, a Torrance resident for 45 years, passed away peacefully at home on October 23, 2010 at the age of 74 after a long illness. Bob was born in Erlanger, Kentucky and moved to Torrance in 1965 when he began his 33-year teaching career at El Camino College in the architectural department. Bob also owned and operated his own building and design firm. With his family and friends, Bob enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, horseback riding and attending grandchildren's sporting events. Bob is survived by wife, Paula; son, Steve (Lizette) Codey; daughter, Tracey (Marty) Mullan; grandchildren, Kyle and Tyler Codey and Phillip and Mackenzie Mullan. A memorial service will be held at Rice Chapel in Torrance on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. The family asks that the attire for this celebration of Bob's life be as Bob would have wanted, beach casual (shorts, jeans, Hawaiian shirts are encouraged). The family is requesting that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be sent to El Camino College Foundation for a memorial scholarship in Prof. Robert Codey's honor. Please send your contributions to the El Camino College Foundation at 16007 Crenshaw Blvd., Torrance, CA 90506 w/Prof. Robert Codey in the memo line. I just want to say that Iam very sorry for your loss. I was a student of his and i had high respect for bob. i knew he was proud of me when he told the class about my drawings and said if you can't do this, you won't get a job. he knew how to reach out to his students
